- Reduction of imines to amines.
- Use as fogging agents in direct-positive photographic emulsions.
- Treatment of polymers to avoid decolouration of the product and undesirable odours.
- Reduction of cuprum oxide (II) on the surface of metal cuprum to cuprum oxide (I).
