- Reduction of aldehydes and ketones to alcohols, of tertiary amides to amines, of some α,β-unsaturated aldehydes and ketones to relevant allyl alcohols.
- Application to polymer derivatization.
- Preparation stereoselective reducing agents: B-isopinocampheyl-9-BBN, lithium B-isopinocampheyl-9-borabicyclo[3.3.1]nonyl hydride, 9-BBN-nopol benzyl ether adduct, lithium hydrido(9-BBN-nopol benzyl ether adduct).
